Privacy policy
Tab Ready does not collect, store off your device, or transmit any personal data.
The short version
Tab Ready keeps a record of every tab you have open, including its full web address and page title, in Chrome's local extension storage on this device. That record lasts as long as the tab does. None of it is transmitted: there is no account, no server belonging to us, no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising and no third-party tracking of any kind, and nothing is sold or shared. Stored on your device is not the same as collected by us, and this policy is specific about both.
What the extension stores, and where
Tab Ready keeps one record for every tab you have open, so it can list them and tell you which have finished loading. Each record holds the tab's id, its window id, its page title, its full URL, the address of its favicon, whether it is pinned, playing audio or unloaded by Chrome, and the times at which it started and finished loading. Taken together that is a list of the pages you have open, which is why it is spelled out here rather than summarised. It also stores your own settings, and a counter used to decide whether a one-time upgrade note has already been shown.
All of that is written to chrome.storage.local, which is local storage
belonging to the extension on the device you are using. It is not synced to your Google
account and it is never sent to us. A tab's record lives as long as that tab does: it is
created when Tab Ready first sees the tab, updated as you navigate, and deleted when you
close it. It is not a browsing history, because nothing is kept once a tab is gone. Visiting a tab, or
marking it as seen, clears its "ready" state but keeps the row, because the tab is still
open and the list is a list of your open tabs. Any leftover records for tabs that no longer
exist are cleared when Chrome restarts. Removing the extension removes its storage with it.
Permissions, and why each one is needed

Optional permissions (Pro only)
These are not requested when you install Tab Ready, and are never requested on the free tier. Chrome asks for them only at the moment you turn on the feature that needs them, and you can withdraw them at any time from Chrome's extension settings. Buying Pro does not add any permission by itself. The two optional permissions in the table below are the only ones it can ever ask for, and Chrome asks for each only when you switch on the feature that needs it.

Favicons
The popup shows each tab's favicon using the icon address the browser already holds for that tab. Displaying it may cause your browser to load that icon from the site it belongs to, the same way it did for the tab strip. Referrer information is suppressed on those requests. No favicon, address or page title is sent to us or to any third party.
This is the one case where opening the list can cause a network request, so it is worth being exact rather than rounding it off. The request is made by your browser, to a site you already have open in that same browser, for an icon it has usually already cached. It carries nothing about Tab Ready, nothing about your other tabs, and nothing about you. We never see it, and no third party is involved. There is no way for an extension to show a real favicon and avoid this. The only alternative Chrome offers would mean asking you for a further permission, which we did not think a fair trade for a cosmetic detail.
Payments
Tab Ready's Pro unlock is a one-time purchase processed by Stripe. Payment happens on Stripe's own hosted checkout page, not on this site and not inside the extension. Your card details go directly to Stripe. We never see them, and we never store them. Stripe handles your email address and payment information under their own privacy policy.
Voxsanity Pty Ltd is the seller, and is what appears on your statement.
When a purchase completes, the extension stores one thing: the checkout reference for that
purchase, which looks like cs_live_ followed by a string of characters. It is
kept on your device and sent only to tab-ready.netlify.app, to ask one question: is
this purchase valid. That check returns yes or no. It does not return, and we do not send
the extension, your email address or any other personal detail.
If you never buy Pro, none of the above happens. No payment provider is contacted, nothing is requested from us or from any third party, and nothing is stored beyond your own tab list and settings. The favicon fetch described above is the only request opening the list can cause, and it goes to a site you already have open, never to us.
Children
Tab Ready is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. Because it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either.
Changes to this policy
If the extension's data practices ever change, this page will be updated before the change ships, and the date at the top will change with it.
