Every tab you have open, and the ones that just finished loading
Open six links in the background and you cannot tell which ones are done. Tab Ready puts the answer on your toolbar, so you stop clicking through tabs to check.
No accounts, no tracking, and nothing leaves your device
What it does
- A count on the toolbar icon. How many tabs have finished while you were not looking and you have not looked at yet.
- A list behind it, with each tab's real title and favicon. A spinner for loading, a check for ready. The shapes differ as well as the colours.
- One click jumps to the tab. A row that is waiting on you also carries a check mark, so you can clear it without going there first. Either way the row stays in the list, because the tab is still open.
- A pulse the moment a tab finishes, so a glance is enough.
What it deliberately does not do
- It does not close, suspend or unload a tab, and it never moves a tab out of a group you made. Collecting finished tabs into a "Ready" group is a Pro feature you switch on yourself. Even then it only ever picks up tabs that are ungrouped or already in a group Tab Ready made, and because Chrome requires the tabs in a group to sit next to each other, grouping does reorder that part of your tab strip.
- It does not read the content of any page, and runs no script on any site you visit. There are no content scripts in it at all.
- It does not sync or phone home, and there is no account. Each tab's address and title are stored on your device only, for as long as that tab is open.
It asks for three permissions, tabs, storage and
sidePanel, and nothing else.
Why those three.
Free, and a one-time Pro unlock
- Free lists every tab in the window you are working in, with no cap on how many. No counting-down allowance, and no greyed-out rows held back for an upgrade.
- Pro is US$7.99 once. Not a subscription. It widens the list to every window and tells you the moment a tab is ready, with a desktop alert.
- Refunds are self-service within 14 days. No email, no explaining yourself. See the full comparison.
